SUMMARY:Scenic Overlook Wagon Ride
DESCRIPTION:Take a tractor-drawn wagon ride through Chapin Forest to the scenic overlook.  One of the best scenic overlooks in Lake County is found along Lucky Stone Loop hiking trail. On a clear day\, you can see Lake Erie and the Cleveland skyline\, 18 miles away.  Experience the beauty of the park without hiking the trails.  Once we get to the overlook\, children can get off of the wagon and explore with adult supervision.  The wagon ride will be approximately 45 minutes long.    Please bring a packed lunch if you are interested in having lunch in the pavilion afterwards.  Cost for this program is $75\, divided among each person that can attend.  Please bring cash to the event. You will receive an email before the event to let you know how much to bring. Hand loom weaving has been around for hundreds of years and requires little training or artistic ability to produce a unique handmade piece. DESCRIPTION:Members and friends\, CVECA needs your help as we start our biggest volunteer drive of the year.    Join us as we donate cuddly handmade fleece blankets to the Children's Unit of Rainbow Children and Babies. These blankets are easy to make\, require no sewing and could be the perfect thing to help cheer up a sick child. To get involved and support our cause please donate $10 for the blanket making kit. You can make it a family project by taking the kit home\, fringing the edges of the material and simply tying knots around the sides to complete the blanket (instructions are included in the kit). If you aren't able to make a blanket at home but would like to be involved please donate $10 and the blanket will be completed for you. Our goal is 50 blankets so we need as many of you involved as we can get!    A group will be gathering to pick out kits and begin making blankets at the Chagrin Falls Library Community Room on Wednesday\, Feb. 22nd from 4:00 - 5:00pm. Caring Cubs have done this in the past and the bookmarks were greatly appreciated by those who received them.    We are asking each family to consider bringing a book to donate to The Gathering Place’s library. The Gathering Place would like to expand their collection to have books available to parents who come to them for non-cancer related issues that come up for young children (ages 4-8) such as moving\, bullying\, divorce\, or the first day of school. Parents can use the book donation as an opportunity to talk to their children prior to the event about helping others. Allowing the children to assist in the selection of the book will also make the donation even more meaningful to them.    The Gathering Place opened 2000 as a nonprofit\, community-based cancer support center to fill an unmet need in the greater Cleveland community. The programs and services offered address the social\, emotional\, physical\, and spiritual needs of individuals with cancer and their support network. The mission of The Gathering Place is to support\, educate and empower individuals and families touched by cancer through programs and services provided free of charge. How to play Musical Water Balloons: Sitting in a large circle\, about four feet apart\, players toss a water balloon around the circle as the music plays. At various and unpredictable intervals\, the music is stopped and started. Each time the music stops\, the person who is left holding the balloon is "out." Anyone who gets wet by breaking a balloon is "out\," too. The last person in the circle is the winner!
